This year, Lahore will be the fascinating backdrop for the 2019 Study Tour. The vibrant city of over 10 million is rightfully called the cultural capital and heart of Pakistan. Founded as Lavapuri (the city of Lava, son of Ram, a Hindu Deity), it has lived through history and been a seat of governance for many rulers. The Mughal grandeur is in full display even today and the study tour will show participants such highlights as The Lahore Fort, the Badshahi Mosque and the Shalimar Gardens.
Lahore is also home to a large number of textile and apparel manufacturing factories as well as a thriving design scene and the country’s top fashion education institutes. The study tour will give participants a clear view of the level of the Pakistan fashion industry in a broad sense.
The Study Tour will run from Thursday, November 14th up to and including Friday November 15th. It traditionally is a combination of business visits and social and cultural activities. The objective of the Study Tour is therfore twofold:
1. To offer participants a quick but valuable insight into the apparel ecosystem of the host country.
2. To offer a unique and memorable experience as a great backdrop for creating lasting business and global relations in the apparel industry.
The price for the study tour has not yet been set, but is likely to be around € 400 including all transportation, lunches, dinners, entry fees and organization costs and excluding 2 nights of hotel accomodations. Because delegates are most likely already staying in the Convention hotel, the Pearl Continental Hotel, this hotel will be the hotel for the Study Tour as well. If you are interested in joining the study tour, please send an email to Matthijs Crietee, firstname.lastname@example.org expressing your interest and the number of people joining. When you book your hotel room at the Convention hotel, you can already extend your stay, or you can choose to add two nights to your reservation at a later stage. We will open the registration for the study tour in about two weeks time.
We have received some indications of interest in extending the stay in Pakistan after the Study Tour to visit the North of Pakistan to experience some breathtaking mountain scenery. To help you to grasp this unique opportunity, we would like to recommend you to get in touch with Pearl Tours & Travel, Mr. Manzoor Hussain, email@example.com. They will be able to help you arrange short trips for instance to Gilgit or Skardu.
